There are many groups and organizations within California and elsewhere that have an interest in oaks or related resources. Some of these, such as the California Native Plant Society, are non-profits that have a larger over-arching emphasis, but include California’s oaks in the native plants they seek to promote and sustain. Others, such as the International Oak Society, have a narrower focus, but a much wider geographic area of interest.
In addition to these environmental groups, there are a variety of government agencies or organizations, including other University of California units or programs, whose purview includes oaks.
